What a stunning and substantial piece! This is a truly awesome antique Indian brass tray, absolutely brimming with character and the most incredible hand-engraved detail. It’s a genuine piece of history that tells a story and makes a bold statement in any home. Features: This beautiful platter originates from India, likely from the Kashmiri region, dating back to the late Victorian or early Edwardian period (circa 1900-1920). The entire surface is meticulously hand-engraved, a traditional technique known as ‘chasing’. The design features a mesmerising pattern of scrolling foliage and flowers, interspersed with fascinating, stylised human figures. The craftsmanship is superb, with a deep, textured quality and a wide, raised rim. Its heavyweight feel speaks to the quality of the brass used. Measurements (Approximate): Diameter: 40cm (15.7 inches) Condition: Presented in good antique condition. The tray has a wonderful, desirable aged patina that only time can create.
